Psalm 55:22 (AMP) says that we are to release the weight of our burdens and cares on Him, which is the exact opposite of holding on to them. Don’t allow the cares and burdens of this life to settle on your shoulders. Many are carrying burdens and are broken down and losing sleep as a result.
As we cast our burdens on the Lord, He will support us. Hebrews 13:5-6 says, “…He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! Assuredly not! So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?” No matter what you may be facing, you can rest in His constant love and care for you. Have faith in the Father’s love for you. Like one minister said, “God’s grip don’t slip.”
The word sustain means to keep, nourish, feed, guide, provide, to hold. If we are going to be sustained it is essential that we position ourselves for His keeping power by releasing all burdens and cares on Him. 1 Peter 5:7,8 says that the next time you feel or sense these cares, boldly say, “Oh no you don’t — I resist you devil in the Name of Jesus and I roll the care of this over on the Lord.”
Let’s pray and say, “Father I thank You for Your great love and sustaining power for me. I roll my burdens and all my cares over on You. I receive Your peace and enter into a place of rest in You. I declare I’m care free, fear free and filled with the peace of God. I have faith in Your love for me and I am fully confident that You are working on my behalf right now. I give You praise and thanksgiving for Your sustaining power at work in my life. In Jesus name – Amen!”
