We have all heard the saying, “Good help is hard to find!” That certainly can be true when we are trying to find the right person to do a specific job such as babysit the kids, assist on project at work, perhaps do home repairs, or paint your house. (Been there, done that recently. Yay, got the right ones and they did an excellent job!)
When we think about all that our Heavenly Father has done for us, the ultimate sacrifice our Lord Jesus paid, and then the fact that Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit to be our: Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby (John 14:16 AMP). All I can say is, “Wow, that is Divine Help!” I love these definitions of the word Divine: 1. extraordinary, 2. beyond human, 3. proceeding from Heaven.
Remember the initial outpouring of the Holy Spirit as recorded in Acts 2?
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:2-4)
Note, the sound came from Heaven. It was Divine in nature! It wasn’t from a person and it certainly wasn’t from hell. The devil did not fill them or give them the ability to speak in other tongues. When I was filled with the Holy Spirit as a kid many, many, many years ago, okay, so it was 50 years ago! Speaking in tongues was not very popular or widely accepted. Praise God, things have changed in that respect and there a now millions of Holy Spirit-filled believers all around the world. However, I sense along with many others that we are at a time when there needs to be a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Can I get a witness?! Never before have we needed Divine power and utterance to pray like we do now!
I recently taught a four part series on “Tongues: The Language of Heaven.” The messages are on the Media: Audio page. I encourage you to listen to them all. If you are not yet filled with the Holy Spirit, you can be. If you are already filled, I encourage you to stir up the gift of tongues within you and fan the flame. If you need prayer or assistance, please feel free to contact our ministry.
