Pastoral Care is an extension of the Senior Pastors to the church body of Heart of the Bay Christian Center. Our first commitment is to our church family. Members are given priority with outreach being done as availability allows.
Pastoral Care provides ministry care on a personal level. Our staff and trained lay ministers are here to support you. Our goal is to help people acknowledge and apply the promises of God during crisis and everyday living. Ministry is always based on the Word of God.
We Offer the Following Services:
Spiritual Guidance is designed to help meet the spiritual needs of members and people who consider HBCC their Church home. Our goal is to assist you in the application of God’s principles to your specific need. Qualified ministers are available to meet with you by appointment during the day. (Some evening appointments are available.)
It is our heart to bring the love and compassion of Jesus Christ to those who are hospitalized. We have trained staff and lay volunteers that will minister encouragement, prayers of faith, and the healing touch of God.
There is always a pastor on call that is available for spiritual guidance in a time of emergency crisis. When an emergency crisis occurs after Church business hours, dial the main Church number at 510 786-3232, and follow the emergency calling instructions. A pastor will then be paged and return your call.
Our pastoral staff is trained in using the Pre-pare Enrich Program along with the DISK Personality Profile for all pre-marital guidance. This is a 6-week program that is required before getting married at HBCC. (Typical weddings require 6 months advanced planning)
We make available to members of HBCC the use of our Sanctuary and Multi-purpose room for weddings. Pre-marital guidance is a prerequisite. Contact Pastoral Care as early as possible to secure dates and availability of staff.
Funeral and Memorials
Pastoral Care will minister to you and your family in the event of a death. We can help with arrangements and the officiating of a funeral/memorial service that would follow. There are many decisions that can seem overwhelming at this time. We desire to minister to you in these areas so you may experience God’s peace and comfort.
This personal ministry is available to you if you have experienced the death of a family member, friend or loved one and face the seemingly impossible task of adjusting to the loss and moving on with your life. Knowing what happens after death, both naturally for us, and spiritually for the deceased, can bring peace of mind and heart. We will stand with you in prayer during this transition time.
Baptism Services and Baby Dedications
Baptism services and Baby Dedications are scheduled periodically throughout the year. Contact the church office at (510) 786-3232 for times and dates.
